Everett Shorey

Everett Shorey has spent the last 25 years as a strategy and business development consultant to both established and emerging companies and is currently the president of Shorey Consulting, Inc. Much of his career has been devoted to understanding and building business models to capture opportunities caused by changes in technology and distribution channels.

Shorey has extensive experience with corporate development and financial issues, including identifying and evaluating acquisition candidates, raising capital and spinning-off divisions, as well as 'hands-on' experience with valuations, due diligence assessments and business plans. This expertise enables Shorey to consistently serve as an influential advisor to numerous companies, as well as deliver the objective expertise expected from a board member.

Shorey started his consulting career at Arthur D. Little, a premier technology and management consulting firm. Over the course of his 17 years there, he led the firm's strategy, its industrial products and its organizational practices. He was also instrumental in rebuilding the firm's internal training program, where he served as an instructor in many courses. Following Arthur D. Little, he joined Corporate Decisions, Inc., where he helped pioneer the concept of business design. For the past five years, he has led his own strategy consulting firm and maintained a strategic partnership with Fletcher Spaght, Inc., the largest strategy and market research firm serving venture capital and other equity investors.

In other areas of consulting, Shorey has served as an advisor to the trade association representing home appliances and other energy-consuming products during energy regulatory proceedings. He is the lead author of a paper for the Pew Center on Global Climate Change outlining ways to involve homeowners in purchasing more energy-efficient appliances. He has also served as a Belmont Day School trustee where he led the long-range planning effort.

He is a partner in The Orchard Group, Inc., an advisor to small private companies.

Everett holds an MBA from Harvard and a BA from Yale.
